Growing up, animals had always held a special place in my heart. Big or small, dull or smart, predator or prey, the appeal was always there. Naturally, it came as a heartbreaking surprise when I discovered that those fascinating animals that I was so passionate about were dying, one after the other, along with hundreds of other species of fabulous creatures. I always used to wonder, what are we doing about it? Who's standing up? Who's making a difference, advocating for change? We needed leaders to guide us towards a better collaboration between humanity and its surroundings, yet none stepped forward. So I decided to do so myself. And as I honed my ability to communicate, I realised that if others could only just see things the way I could, then they would actively try to make a change as well. I believe that this driving passion within me, coupled with my ability to effectively communicate with people with different backgrounds and various trains of thought would make me an ideal candidate for the task of attempting to save our home, from the decaying environment to the dying atmosphere to the suffering animal companions to the burning trees. It may be a huge responsibility, but it is one that I will gladly shoulder if given the chance. And that is precisely what I hope to achieve.
